at the Waldbühne in Berlin [Germany] on Tuesday, 1st June, 1982, presented by Lippmann+Rau in cooperation with Concert Concept. The concert in Berlin was part of the duo's 14-date European tour during May and June in support of
The Concert in Central Park
, commencing at the Estadio del Rayo Vallecano in Madrid on 25th May and ending at London's Wembley Stadium on 19th June, 1982. Produced by Simon and Garfunkel assisted by Roy Halee and Phil Ramone, the album was released on 16th February, 1982 by Warner Bros. Records. It was the duo's first live album, recorded on 19th September, 1981 at a free benefit concert on the Great Lawn in Central Park, New York City, where the pair performed in front of more than 500,000 people. Proceeds went toward the redevelopment and maintenance of the park, which had deteriorated due to lack of municipal funding. The concert and album marked the start of a short-lived reunion for Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. Universally praised by music critics, the album was commercially successful. It peaked at #6 on the
Billboard
200 and was certified double platinum by the RIAA.
The poster measures 60.0 x 83.9 cm (approx. 23.6" by 33" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. There are a few miniscule rips to the upper right side border, else in excellent unfolded condition, ready to frame.
