**Santa Maria Novella**Once in awhile, you have an AHHHH moment, where you know you've come home. Santa Maria Novella is one of the oldest perfumeries situated in a Dominican monastery in Florence, Italy. The history of this place is fascinating and the perfumes date from 1533 to 2017!
The fragrances are sublime. They each have a history and a story to tell. They are like little prayers in a bottle! Every one distinct and memorable. It is a pleasure to bring these to you and I apologize ahead of time if I describe these in an exalted way. But they mean so much to me.
All are unisex, EDC, and come in 1 ml samples or 2ml Sprays. No Substitutions.
Rosa: 2009. There is evidence that the Dominican monks at SM Novella used rosewater as far back as 1381 and the formulation is original. It is heaven and ecstacy in a fragrance. It is a prayer of beauty.
Fieno: 1886. Clean, green meadow grasses, honeyed hay, wild rose. Simple, elegant, haunting.
Acqua di Cuba: 1998. Undeniably gorgeous fragrance of citrus, honey, cinnamon, leather and tobacco. If you love the rich notes of tobacco and leather, you have hit gold. But it is so much more than that. Given time, this fragrances melds into a lovely honey skin scent.
Sandalo: Date created unknown. Rose, thyme and sandalwood. This sandalo is subtle, formal, and incredibly elegant. I would wear this to something serious: a board meeting, a promotion, anything challenging. It has a beautiful strength and confidence.
Peau D'Espagne: 1901: Actually originating in the 16th century, 'Spanish skin' is a resinous civet and clove fragrance inspired by the rich Spanish leather. A little raunchy, sexy, a lot gorgeous. Dries down to the most incredible skin scent. You will want to nibble the ears of the one wearing it!
Acqua di Sicilia: 1997. 'Waters of Sicilia' invokes that sunny and fragrant atmosphere of Sicily. As I look out my window at rainy Washington, this is the perfect fragrance for me today! Oh, the purest, most satisfying citrus, with mango, rosemary and a little clove. Gob smacking fresh and lovely!
Tuberosa: 1939. The tuberose plant reached Europe around 1500. Grows in clusters, it releases its intense fragrance at sunset. This is the fullest, most luscious tuberose you can imagine, it is a torrent of sensuality. It is creamy, lactonic, on a par with Piguet's Fracas. I may like this one better!
Tobacco Toscano: 2008. Tobacco used to be used as a remedy for migraines. This beautiful fragrance features jasmine, burnt malt, amber and tobacco. And yes, blended so well, it is soothing to smell it. Overall, a highly wearable skin scent.
Colonia Russa: 1901. Civet, clove, citrus. That bitter orange note does it for me here! But it is light and lovely, a very clean scent. If you are partial to bitter orange, this is one of the best.
Ginestra: 2001. 'Broom' grows wild on the Tuscany hillside, their bright golden flowers bringing spring and summer. It is a harmonious, fresh scent of spring flowers and green notes. Dialed down, light and elegant.
+ Always a surprise bonus!
**PLEASE NOTE** These are SAMPLES for you to test before buying a bottle of fragrance. You will not receive the bottles in the picture. The bottles are only to show you they came from an authentic source.
FYI: I use 1.5 ml glass vials for the 1ml choice. I found that the 1ml vials were inferior because of leakage, breakability, and difficulty opening. Sometimes opening a 1ml would splatter the fragrance everywhere. That is why the vials are a little over half full: they are in larger vials.
1.5ml Sprays available.
NOTE: My perfumes are 100% authentic from the original bottles, created in a sterile environment with nitrile gloves and a one use pipette or sterilized funnel to avoid any contamination. So please enjoy in CONFIDENCE.
