King H.N. White Co. Brass Trombonium Baritone Horn/marching trombone! Cool collector’s piece.
Here’s another old trombonium! It is in overall solid condition and plays well, but will need some servicing in order to be at its best.
The good:
The body is in structurally sound condition and, overall, the lacquer looks good. I would say about 80%. It is primarily worn on the usual touch spots. There are no existing solder repairs that I can see or broken supports, but I do see a couple brackets that could use attention (see last pic). The case is structurally sound.
The bad:
There are several small dings and scratches throughout. The worst are in the last stretch leading to the bell, on the edge (pic attached). None of the dents are severe and should be easily removed by a good tech. This has been sitting for a very very long time and the slides and 3rd valve could use some oil/grease to move well. The case functions, but shows significant wear and smells a bit. However, it protects the horn well.
Overall good condition. A little love at the shop for a cleaning/servicing, and this should be good to go. Please make me an offer!
