With 5 tone holes it has a range of one octave, chomatic scale can be played by half-covering the holes.
The ocarina has a deep warm voice.
It is rather easy to play and doesn't take a lot of air - so long melodic phases won't be a problem. Firmly constricted with threads, the ocarina is extremely durable.
