Wonderful antique Victorian era figural desk thermometer depicting a Spanish Conquistador or knight holding a tall banner with the thermometer on the front.
The Fahrenheit thermometer still works, with graduated readings alternating on both sides from 0 to 120 and the top reading "FAHR." The Conquistador is cast in spelter metal with excellent detail in his plumed helmet, mustachioed face and armor. It's mounted to a round black marble base.
It stands 9.5" tall on a 3" diameter round base, and weighs 1.5 lbs.
